Premier Showdown - Sept 20/21

September 21, 2008

It's like harking back to yesteryear! Three wins on the spin for the Rest of the World team mean they have stamped their authority back on Premier Showdown to leave our 'experts' looking like mugs!

There's much work for Dale and Tommy to do as we head into the next round. Can they finally turn it around and end the ROTW's new dominance?

Looking to make sure that isn't the case is Mahomed Suleman Noor Mahomed who hails from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

He tells us: 'I am a 53-year-old South African. I support two clubs in England, Liverpool and Leeds United. I am a BA.LLB graduate and I am an Educator. I have a coaching certificate with SAFA to coach at junior level. I love to see young children playing the game of football no matter what level of skills they have. I enjoy watching teams play good football. And I played professional football in the late 70s back in South Africa.

'I hope Leeds are promoted to the Championship next year and Liverpool win the Premiership.'

Let's see if an ex-pro can get the better of Dale and Tommy!

Each week one of our readers has the chance to challenge our two experts.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
