Premier Showdown - Apr 28 - May 1

May 1, 2006

Dale came within a whisker of moving back to the top of the table ahead of the Rest of the World, only Darius Vassell's goal for Manchester City at Aston Villa pulled Charles Tondo and the team of challenges level for a share of the spoils.

And as, quite remarkably, everyone predicted a 2-1 win for Liverpool at West Ham United the last match proved irrelevent.

So, a mere 1.5 points seperate the top two with just two rounds to go. A win for the ROTW this weekend will put the competition to bed - but have they got what it takes?

Our penultimate challenger for 2005/06 comes from Norway, and goes by the name of Scott Casban.

Scott, who is 31 and currently hails from Oslo, tells us: 'I am a straight Ballet Dancer! with the Norwegian national Ballet. I've been living here in Norway for 10 years - I am british.

'I'm married to a half-Swedish, half-Portuguese lady. I just like watching a good game but my favourite team would be Barcelona right now. Favourite player? Apart from Ronaldinho it must be Carlos Tevez - the star of the next world cup!'

Game on!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, will get the chance to challenge our two experts. They, along with the challenger, will cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Soccernet's Premiership Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the challenge from our team.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline

  • One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit will receive three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total will be added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points will be shared between those level on points.
