Premier Showdown - Jan 29-30

January 30, 2013

Dale Johnson claimed a much-needed victory last time out, but there's a lot of work to do to get back in the game with Tommy Smyth well out in front.

Joining us for the midweek round of games is Langford Munthali who will be our very first challenger from Malawi - Blantyre to be precise.

He tells us: "Hello, I am a SAP Human Capital Management & Payroll Consultant at Twenty Third Century Systems Malawi. I am 26 years old and a Chelsea fan - and I am not liking what is happening at Chelsea right now.

"I think we should have retained RDM since Rafa is not constant, we keep having unpredictable second halves at each home game. Torres should go and Ba should start each game because he is way much better. I have been following the Premier League for more than 10 years now."

Game on!

For each round of matches we invite someone to represent the Rest of the World and take on Press Pass' Tommy Smyth and ESPN journalist Dale Johnson in our predictions game.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the Showdown result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the Rest of the World tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared.

Langford manages to hold off Tommy to take victory and put the Rest of the World within touching distance of Tommy.
