Davy Klaassen expects to 'score a lot of goals' for Everton this season

Everton's big-money recruit Davy Klaassen has his sights set on scoring heavily for the Toffees this season.

The midfielder registered 14 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances for Ajax last season, and expects to do the same at Goodison Park following his €27 million transfer on Thursday.

"I like to get in the box and I also like to be aggressive on the field and press all the time," Klaassen told Everton's official website.

"I like to score and create goals and I like to win. My whole life I have scored a lot of goals, so I expect that I can do it here as well.

"It is not the most important part of my game but goals are important in football. I will try to do my best and the goals will come.

"I like to win and to win you have to provide or score goals."

Everton also spent £30m on bringing England keeper Jordan Pickford to Merseyside on Thursday -- another statement of intent from manager Ronald Koeman as he tries to mastermind a return to European competition.
