Rarely used during the Euro 2012 qualifiers, right-back Debuchy made the cut as Laurent Blanc trimmed down his final squad for this summer’s football festival.
He looked the part in the international against Germany back in February, as he showed real promise bursting down the flank and was credited with setting up both of Les Bleus goals in the 2-2 draw. It was enough to earn him a ticket to a summer in Poland and Ukraine and now he wants to use it as a launch pad for his career.
Stating publically that he is eager to move on from Lille this summer, Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked with moves for Debuchy and he is clearly open to any attractive offer.
“I have to deal with the Euros first, but everyone knows I would like to have the chance to play in the Premier League,” says Debuchy. “I’m not saying I need to leave Lille now, but if a club comes in with an interesting proposal, then I would like to look at it.”
