A latecomer to the Czech’s Euro 2012 plans, Rajtoral only made his senior debut at international level in February, but he makes it into the final 23-man squad selected by Michal Bilek and will provide good squad strength in the right back slot.
The early stage of his career was hampered by fatigue issues, with doctors diagnosing that he was suffering from a medical condition which was draining his energy levels during his time as a Banik Ostrava player. It forced him out of the game for a time, but he back to full strength now.
He has shot back to prominence since making the move to Plzen in 2009 and now he gets the chance to live out a dream and represent his national in a major championship. “I have worked through a lot of difficult moments to get into this Euro 2012 squad,” says a delighted Rajtoral. “Hopefully the dream can now end with me playing in the tournament as well.”
