Nani has warned Portugal cannot accept anything less than victory against Denmark after losing their opening match to Germany.
Portugal performed well in their first match, but a late Mario Gomez goal saw them succumb to a 1-0 defeat to the group favourites. They face Denmark on Wednesday before taking on Netherlands, and Nani knows there is now little margin for error if they are to reach the next round.
"We need to win, because then we'll only be depending on ourselves [going into the final game],” Nani said. “We're going to try and attack, because that's the only way we'll be able to win."
Nani could be given a more central role against Denmark but the Manchester United man says he is happy as a winger, having spent the bulk of his career in the position.
“I'm happy to play wide,” he said. “It's a position I feel good in and I can create opportunities for my team-mates from there.”
He added: "We've got a lot of players who can score and any of them could be decisive for us."
Portugal were given a fitness boost as all 23 players trained on Monday. Striker Hugo Almeida had been in bed suffering with a fever, while winger Ricardo Quaresma had been struggling with a leg injury.© ESPN
