The striker had been a fitness doubt on account of a thigh complaint which had restricted him to light training. But the Galatasaray man came through a full session on Thursday without any discomfort and has been made available to coach Michal Bilek.
“He did not complain and he’s got the green light,” Czech Republic team doctor Petr Krejci told the CTK news agency. “The treatment will continue, but it looks good. It’s up to the coach now."
Baros is the first-choice striker for Bilek and if he is 100 per cent he will lead the line in their opener.
After taking on Russia, the Czechs will face Greece and co-hosts Poland.
