Quaresma was hailed as the ‘next big thing’ in Portuguese football as he emerged through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon more than a decade ago, yet he has never entirely lived up to that billing despite securing lucrative moves to Barcelona, FC Porto, a brief loan stint at Chelsea and Inter Milan.
At his best, this dynamic winger is a threat to any defender in the game and Portugal will have to hope he can dovetail successfully with Cristiano Ronaldo at Euro 2012, but the odds are this Turkish-based performer will be used as an impact player off the bench this summer.
