This left-back has returned to form since making the move to Monaco in January, with the transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt certainly helping his cause as he pushed for a spot in the Greek Euro 2012 squad.
He suffered a serious knee injury in March 2011 and by the time he returned to action, his club side were playing in the second division of the German league. While joining a Monaco side who were also languishing in the second tier of their national league hardly seemed like a step up, it appears to have revived Tzavellas.
His impact at his new club was highlighted by a superb free-kick goal against Istres in May, with regular observers of the French side confirming he had already become a real asset to their cause. His Monaco team-mate Alexandros Tziolis was not so fortunate, as he was left out of the Greek squad for Euro 2012.
