After starting his career with the Panionios, this versatile performer has been a regular in the Greece squad in the run-up to Euro 2012.
While Maniatis may only be a fringe player for Greece coach Fernando Santos after appearing in three qualifiers for this tournament, his ability to perform solidly in a right-back role or a more advance midfield position makes him a valuable asset to have on hand in a tournament when the full depth of the squad is likely to be tested.
He made his first appearance for Greece in an international against Serbia in Belgrade in August 2010 and is noted for his strong tackling and high energy performances. He has shown good form in a midfield role at club level of late and that may be a position he is used by Greece at Euro 2012.
