Who is on the Football Association panel to pick the England manager?

Roy Hodgson's resignation as England boss on Monday night has left the Football Association searching for a new manager, with Gareth Southgate and Alan Pardew among those said to be in contention.

The trio charged with the task are Martin Glenn, David Gill and Dan Ashworth -- but what are their credentials?

Martin Glenn

Although Glenn confessed ''I'm not a football expert'' at Hodgson's final press conference on Tuesday, he is an FA-qualified grassroots coach and a former non-executive director at Leicester City. Prior to taking up his role as chief executive at the FA in 2015, the Wolves supporter worked as CEO at United Biscuits, a £1 billion company which is home to the McVitie's and Jacobs brands.

David Gill

Most recognised for his time as chief executive at Manchester United, chartered accountant Gill is currently the FA's vice-chairman and UK vice-president of FIFA. The 58-year-old replaced Peter Kenyon as United chief executive in 2003 and quickly built a reputation as a shrewd operator, working well alongside former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson before leaving Old Trafford in 2013. He was first appointed on to the FA board in 2006 and is also a member of the UEFA executive committee.

Dan Ashworth

Former Norwich defender Ashworth holds over 19 years of coaching experience after starting his post-playing career in 1997 in the academy at Peterborough. A move to Cambridge followed before the 45-year-old worked his way through the ranks at West Brom where he briefly worked alongside Hodgson as the club's technical director -- the role that he later took up with the FA in 2013.
