Dele Alli: England's philosophy same as at Tottenham

Dele Alli says there is a similar atmosphere in the England camp to at Tottenham, and has urged his international teammates to remain focused at Euro 2016.

Alli was one of five Tottenham players named in Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad on Tuesday, along with Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Harry Kane.

Despite two points from their final four matches, Spurs enjoyed a fine Premier League season, finishing third in the Premier League -- their highest-ever Premier League finish -- and challenging for the title until their 36th match.

Spurs' success was based on youth, energy and determination -- epitomised by 20-year-old PFA Young Player of the Year Alli -- and the former MK Dons midfielder says the England camp has a similar feel to his club's dressing room.

"[The mood] is great. It's the same sort of atmosphere at Spurs -- there are a lot of youngsters and everyone gets on well," Alli told Match of the Day Magazine.

"We've got the same sort of philosophy and we're looking to do the right things, which is important for the team.

"We've got to be right mentally -- to stay focused and not get carried away if results go our way. We've got to be focused and, like this season at Spurs, take each game as it comes and not look too far ahead.

"We've got a lot of new players that have only just broken in recently, but there's definitely a lot to be excited about. Whatever happens, it's certainly a team that can be worked on for the future."

Meanwhile, former MK Dons boss Paul Ince has labelled Alli "very immature" but says he has all the ingredients to mature into a top player.

"You'd watch him for an hour and the potential was clear," Ince told FourFourTwo.

"His rise has been really quick and one of the best things about him is his character. You can tell he's got some inner strength and that's helped him cope with moving up through the game quite quickly. He's got a good mindset, he knows what he wants to achieve in the game and what he needs to do to get there.

"He's still got a lot to learn and it's important that we don't get too carried away about him. Some of the stuff Dele does is very immature. He makes some silly tackles and he can kick out at people. That's where he's got to learn and improve.

"But he's got potential to be anyone he wants to be. He reminds me a little bit of Steven Gerrard. He's got a similar build, he can tackle, he makes great runs into the box -- he's a goal scoring midfielder, and we don't get too many of those. Dele is clever and he's got all the attributes to succeed, because he can do everything."
