Newport extended their unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two to six matches as Michael Flynn's brilliant finish earned them a 1-0 win at Wycombe.
It was a deserved win for the Exiles, who always carried the greater goal threat, and this result allows them to keep up with the pacesetters in the division.
Newport came within a whisker of opening the scoring when Christian Jolley's wonderful half-volley from the corner of the box came off the underside of the bar.
A moment of real quality gave the Exiles the lead after 31 minutes as Flynn flicked in Adam Champman's long ball first-time with the outside of his right foot.
Jo Kuffour almost brought Wycombe level against the run of play when he was put through by Sam Wood, only for Newport captain David Pipe to clear his shot off the line.
Tom Naylor came close to doubling the visitors' lead with 10 minutes left with a volley that flew wide but there was no further threat of a Wycombe equaliser.
