Marvin Elliott scored a trademark header but Bristol City's wait for a first league win of the season continues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Gillingham.
The 28-year-old latched on to a fine Scott Wagstaff delivery just before half-time after Adebayo Akinfenwa had put the Gills ahead in the 22nd minute with a glancing header.
City had several chances to score the winner in the second half, but could not find the net - Nicky Shorey had one of the best efforts with what was only his second touch.
City almost opened the scoring prior to Akinfenwa's header when a quickly-taken free-kick from Sam Baldock had Gills keeper Stuart Nelson scrambling across his goal.
Nelson got lucky though as Baldock's effort drifted just wide of the post with big striker Akinfenwa pouncing at the other end and glancing home Charlie Lee's long throw.
But City equalised on the stroke of half-time through Elliott and Shorey was unfortunate after coming on for Bobby Reid on the hour, while Baldock saw a late free-kick brilliantly saved by Nelson.
