Blue Brazil too strong for Shire
Cowdenbeath proved their quality to overcome East Stirling 2-1 and book their place in the semi-finals of the Ramsdens Cup.
The Blue Brazil, flying high in the Scottish First Division, opened the scoring after just 10 minutes through Marc McKenzie, pouncing from close range.
But Third Division strugglers Shire levelled matters midway through the first half courtesy of Sean Kelly's neat finish from six yards after David Greenhill's corner.
Yet Kenneth Adamson restored Cowdenbeath's advantage with what turned out to be the winner five minutes before the break, receiving the ball from McKenzie before firing into the bottom corner from the centre of the area.
The second half proved a much quieter affair, with Kyle Miller going closest for the visitors when he hit a post from 12 yards.
