Montrose survive scare
Montrose recovered from conceding a shock early goal to comfortably overcome Highland League side Inverurie Loco Works 4-2 in the opening round of the Ramsdens Cup.
Stuart Mackay had fired Inverurie ahead with a lovely right-foot shot from 20 yards in the 16th minute but Montrose drew level with a Paul Watson free-kick from just outside the penalty area after 28 minutes.
The second half proved to be a cruise for Montrose. Martin Boyle struck from close range on the hour mark and six minutes later Gary Wood made no mistake with a right-foot shot from 12 yards.
Terry Masson then hit the home side's fourth goal from inside the box 10 minutes from time.
Mark Souter scored a consolation goal for Inverurie from 12 yards after 88 minutes.
