Bonar at the double
Lewis Bonar struck twice as Stirling eased past Deveronvale with a 3-1 win in the first round of The Ramsdens Cup.
Bonar struck in both halves and Gavin McPherson added a third shortly after the hour mark as the visitors outclassed their hosts to ensure a safe passage into the next round.
Bonar opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute after Scott Fraser felled Joshua Flood.
He fired home his spot-kick right-footed into the top corner and then doubled his tally to put Stirling further ahead in the 48th minute with a low right-foot finish from Scott Davieson's cross from the right.
Deveronvale pulled a goal back in the 58th minute when Mike McKenzie hit a right-foot free-kick into the net from 30 yards.
Yet the visitors struck again in the 63rd minute when McPherson collected a pass from Davieson and rifled into the net from 12 yards.
