Ogleby treble inspires East Fife
East Fife breezed through their Ramsdens Challenge Cup first-round tie at Montrose as Robert Ogleby netted a hat-trick in a comfortable 6-1 victory.
The deadlock was broken from close range after 16 minutes by last season's top scorer Bobby Linn when he was fed by strike partner Ogleby.
Ogleby doubled the lead after 27 minutes with a right-footed drive from just inside the box, and Ryan Wallace put the result beyond question four minutes later by placing a shot beyond the reach of Michael Andrews.
Ogleby's second came after 51 minutes by coolly slotting home after racing onto Mark Ridgers' long punt, and he completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Craig Johnstone was impeded just after the hour.
Lloyd Young completed the Fifers' scoring a minute later when his powerful strike beat Andrews at his near post.
Stephen McPhee's consolation for Montrose was the pick of the bunch as he lashed into the top corner from 30 yards.
