Barnes-Homer rescues Hatters
A late Matthew Barnes-Homer equaliser earned Luton a deserved replay and denied Corby Town an unlikely win in 1-1 draw in the FA Cup.
Barnes-Homer struck after 83 minutes following a spell of Hatters pressure after Ben Mackey had headed The Steelmen ahead early on.
Luton's Claude Gnakpa found himself through on goal after three minutes but his weak effort was easily blocked by the Corby keeper Chris Mackenzie.
Mackey then put the home side into a shock 14th-minute lead with a fine header from a Danny Pitham cross.
Another block from Mackenzie denied Barnes-Homer a close-range effort after 21 minutes and moments later Luton's Taino Atieno had a header stopped on the line by Andy Hall.
Gnakpa was causing the home defence all kinds of problems and his header was denied a goal by the bar after 28 minutes.
A good build up by the Hatters just after the hour but the chance was spurned with a wild kick wide from substitute Godfrey Poku.
But as the game went on Luton dominated possession, Fred Murray fired just over the bar after 75 minutes before George Pilkington's 20-yard drive drew a great save from Mackenzie.
Luton got their well deserved equaliser late on when Barnes-Homer rose highest to head into the bottom corner.
