Elgin made it three wins in four league games as they comfortably beat Annan 2-0 to move within two points of the play-off places.
The home side did the damage early on and had practically secured the points within 11 minutes.
The first goal came after just five minutes when Brian Cameron stabbed a Jason Crooks cross into the top corner from close range.
Crooks himself made it 2-0 when he received a pass from Craig Gunn and fired past Jonny Jamieson from the edge of the 18-yard box.
The closest Annan got to getting back into the game was a Kevin Neilson shot from 20 yards but Scott Bain got down well to save.
