Arbroath moving up

Arbroath moved to within two points of the Third Division play-off zone with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Berwick at Gayfield Park.

Berwick took the lead in the 19th minute when Alan Brazil fired a Darren Gribbon free-kick into the bottom corner, but Arbroath's Mark Durnan levelled the scores from 12 yards in the 27th minute.

Steven Doris put the home side in front after 31 minutes, finishing a cross from Gavin Swankie before Chris McLeod's 52nd-minute header pulled Berwick level for a second time.

However, Arbroath still had time to win it, and David McGowan snatched all three points for his side in the 82nd minute, finding the net from just inside the area to make it 3-2.
