Mansfield 6-0 Bishop's Stortford
Mansfield made light work of a potential banana-skin with a comprehensive 6-0 win over Bishop's Stortford as Neil MacKenzie helped himself to a hat-trick.
The visitors' hopes of an upstage were rocked early on when MacKenzie fired home his first from 20 yards and when Junior Mendes punished visiting keeper Micky Desborough for spilling a Wayne Corden shot with a close-range finish three minutes later, the writing was on the wall.
Colin Larkin made it 3-0 in the first half at the far post before MacKenzie added the fourth a minute later, again from the edge of the box.
MacKenzie's hat-trick was completed six minutes after the break with another crisp, low finish.
Stortford lost defender Gareth Gwillim with a red card for bringing down Craig Disley. But Tom Curtis saw his penalty saved by Desborough, who made a string of excellent saves.
Tom Curtis headed home a Corden cross to make it 6-0 and complete the scoring with 12 minutes remaining.
