United missing trio
Airdrie United will again be without the injured trio of Gavin Griffin, Cameron MacDonald and Jack Boyle as they look to build on Saturday's battling 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle by seeing off visitors Cowdenbeath.
Diamonds manager Jimmy Boyle had wielded the axe following a 3-0 capitulation to Hamilton on Boxing Day and the youngsters he brought in look set to keep their place against the Blue Brazil.
Boyle said: ``It was good that we played well against Thistle and hopefully we can push forward on that.
``The togetherness shown by the players was really important but we know that Cowdenbeath can be a very difficult team to play against.
``A win would give us a very nice platform to look for safety in 2013.''
Cowdenbeath have defender Kenny Adamson available after a ban but Greg Stewart and Liam Cusack remain out through ankle and knee injuries respectively.
The Central Park side have not won a league game since they defeated the Diamonds 3-0 nearly four months ago, however a repeat of that success would give them a five point cushion in the race to avoid relegation concerns.
Player/manager Colin Cameron said: ``Neither side has won recently so we will both be trying to change that.
``They will see this game as a great opportunity to get above us but our players dug in well to get a point at Raith on Saturday and we will need that approach again.''
