Reims coach Hubert Fournier hopes Bordeaux will be feeling the effects of their Europa League efforts when they travel to face his struggling side in Ligue 1 tomorrow.
The visitors claimed a 2-0 win at home to Newcastle on Thursday to top their group and now have to turn their attention to getting back on track domestically after claiming just one point from the last two games.
The 15th-placed hosts have not won since early October, taking just two points from the last seven games, and Hubert Fournier knows the magnitude of the task his side face.
He told www.stade-de-reims.com: ``We will approach this game with passion, up against formidable opponents who excel in Ligue 1, but also on the European scene.
``We will have to play at 100% of our ability and hope that Bordeaux are tired in this game due to the number of matches they have had.''
Bordeaux have won three and drawn three on the road this term and currently lie sixth.
Former player Marius Tresor, now on the club's technical staff, told www.girondins.com: ``We must be strong. The boys will be fresh and they will try to recover the lost points in the last two meetings.
``To return with a positive result would be a very good thing before hosting St Etienne.
``The Reims midfield is a bit ponderous. We will attempt to be too strong for them in attack, but the most important thing is to remain solid at the back. When we have had a good defence it has brought us a positive result.''
