Paris St Germain defender Alex believes his team have ``no choice'' but to win tomorrow's match at fellow high-flyers Bordeaux.
Carlo Ancelotti's men surrendered pole position in Ligue 1 last weekend as their run of four successive wins came to a halt with a goalless home draw against struggling Ajaccio.
Little went to plan for the capital club in their first match after the winter break as Thiago Motta was sent off and fellow midfielder Lucas Moura had his debut cut short by cramp, while defender Thiago Silva picked up a thigh injury which will rule him out for three weeks.
However, Alex insists another under-achieving performance is not an option.
The Brazilian, who joined from Chelsea last January, told his club's official website, www.psg.fr: ``It's an important match.
``It's important we win and build even more confidence. We're two points behind Lyon now, and we have no choice but to win.''
However, Alex knows the trip to the Stade Chaban-Delmas represents a tough test.
He added: ``We know it's always tough to take on Bordeaux. They defend very well and are dangerous on the counter.
``We'll have to pay attention to that. We need to stop their counters and play intelligently.''
Motta starts a two-match ban but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is available - the striker picked up a yellow card against the Corsicans which will rule him out of the midweek clash against Toulouse.
The home side also have fitness concerns. Midfielder Nicolas Maurice-Belay strained a hamstring in the 2-0 win at Rennes last time out, while forward Yoan Gouffran is a doubt with bruised ribs.
Francis Gillot's men will be looking to build on the success, which lifted them to fourth in the table following five successive draws.
