Bastia v Evian Thonon Gaillard: Preview
Bastia v Evian.
Evian coach Pascal Dupraz is hoping to replicate his first result in charge of the side when they travel to Bastia tomorrow.
Dupraz guided Evian to a 3-0 win over the Corsicans on September 2 in his first match in charge - and a similar result would be welcome in the return of two teams who are looking anxiously over their shoulder in Ligue 1.
He said: ``A lot has happened since that match but our position in the standings has not changed enough for my liking.
``It is scarcely better than when I took over and, most importantly, the number of points is not enough compared to the hopes I had when I took over as manager.''
Dupraz's team are four points and four places adrift of 13th-placed Bastia and the coach is hoping Diego Campos can help moved them away from the relegation zone.
The 22-year-old Brazilian striker has joined on loan from Atletico Goianiense with a view to a permanent move, although his wait for a work permit means he will not feature in tomorrow's contest.
Dupraz added on his club's official website: ``He is what we wanted, namely an extra attacker, with alertness, speed and a good ability to dribble.''
After successive defeats, Bastia boss Frederic Hantz could have forward Whabi Khazri available following Tunisia's exit from the African Nations Cup.
However, former Sochaux centre-back Jacques Faty - who has joined on loan from Bursaspor - is not yet eligible, while central defender Francois Marque has left the club after his contract was mutually terminated.
