Russia were incredibly wasteful on the night, but all credit to Greece, who defended courageously and largely restricted their opponents to shots from distance.
Incredible scenes. Russia, who were tipped to win it after their demolition of the Czechs, crash out as a result of their head-to-head record against Greece.
94'
Full time Greece go through along with Czech Republic!
94'
Dzagoev tries an ambitious effort but it's not troubling Greece.
94'
94'
Russia have less than a minute to stay in this competition.
93'
In the other match, Poland have an effort cleared off the line seconds before the final whistle. The Czechs win, so Russia need a goal.
92'
92'
Zhirkov sends a ball across goal but there's a push and the ref's given a free-kick. The cross was too deep anyway.
91'
Denisov takes a shot that bounces up and causes Sifakis a bit of a problem. The 'keeper goes down and Greece win a free-kick.
90'
Four minutes to be added on.
90'
Shirokov heads towards goal at the far post but it's easily claimed by Sifakis.
88'
Dzagoev shows good technique on the edge of the box as he looks to get a shot ion. Russia win a corner.
88'
Dzagoev and Pogrebnyak exchange passes but they still can't find a way through.
87'
Katsouranis now back on the field.
86'
He got off the very second the stretcher reached the edge of the pitch.
86'
He's on a stretcher now. He'll presumably hop off immediately, but his team will be down to ten men.
85'
Greece put the ball out of play with Katsouranis down injured. It's caused some anger among the Russians. It doesn't look like a real injury, frankly.
83'
83'
82'
Oh dear again. Pavlyuchenko scoops a shot hopelessly over the bar from the corner.
82'
Maniatis fails to prevent Russia winning a corner.
82'
Time is very much running out for Russia.
81'
80'
Salpingidis runs with the ball down the right before sending a ball across the six-yard box that Malafeev is unable to clear. With little in the Greek attack, though, there's no one to tough it home.
78'
Russia have been camped outside the Greece area for some time, but they just can't break through.
78'
Anyukov floats a cross in, but Greece head clear.
76'
Arshavin shows a bit of silky skill as he tries to unlock the Greek defence, but they're defending manfully and the Russians are looking a little desperate.
75'
Denisov tries another long-ranger from a corner, but this time it's on target and forces Sifakis into a solid low save.
75'
John Brewin tweets: "Tzavellas rattles Russia crossbar with a tremendous free-kick. Dzagoev booked and will miss the next round."
73'
Arshavin plas a pass through for Zhirkov, who goes down on the very edge of the area. The ref's not interested.
72'
72'
71'
70'
Superb curling effort that met the corner of the goal-frame and bounced clear.
70'
69'
68'
The ball eventually comes to Anyukov, who takes yet another of those ridiculous long-range shots. Russia seem to have lost all confidence.
68'
Samaras knocks it behind for another corner.
68'
Russia win a corner through Arshavin.
67'
Presumably, Fernando Santos is concerned that Karagounis is going to get himself sent off.
67'
66'
Zhirkov turns in the area and centres the ball, but it's easily cleared.
65'
Tzavellas takes a free-kick for Greece on the left but Russia head clear.
64'
63'
Russia, incidentally, have had 19 shots but only one on target. If they were to go out here, they'd only have themselves to blame.
62'
John Brewin tweets: "Greece with the better chances, Russia just not able to get going. Greece have been denied a clear penalty. Karagounis booked and banned."
62'
Karagounis is absolutely livid.
60'
Ignashevich clearly brought him down there. Poor decision from the referee. Karagounis is now suspended for the next match too.
60'
60'
Greece go incredibly close as they get a free header from the corner, but it just lacks the direction. Russia are in trouble if they don't sort themselves out.
60'
Greece win another corner.
59'
58'
Samaras breaks clear and wins a foul from Berezutski to relieve the pressure.
57'
Denisov unleashes a mighty shot on goal, but it's a good foot wide of the post. Ferocious effort though.
55'
Greece surround Pavlyuchenko on the edge of the area in the manner of bees attacking a hungry bear. This won't be easy for Russia.
54'
Oh dear. Pavlyuchenko seems to be suffering the same affliction as his team-mates: he tries a shot from distance, which goes hopelessly wide.
53'
Greece are still showing attacking intent, despite the fact a 1-0 win is certain to take them through.
51'
Anyukov sends in a deep cross that's turned back for Shirokov, who swings his left boot at the ball only to see it fly over the bar. Russia need to find their shooting boots.
50'
Samaras races towards goal once again but his low shot from distance was ill advised and wide of the mark.
49'
Samaras makes a lung-busting run for goal, but he ends up in pain from an Anyukov tackle as the move breaks down.
48'
Gekas attempts to control a Samaras cross in the area but is marshalled well by the Russian defence.
47'
No real surprise that Russia made the change. Kerzakhov, though an integral part of the team, just looks shorn of confidence at the moment and Pavlyuchenko does have the quality to make a difference.
46'
46'
Russia get the second half underway
The players are back out on the field for the second half.
ESPN Stats & Info tweets: "Greece's goal is the FIRST stoppage time goal of EURO 2012. There were 7 stoppage time goals at EURO 2008 in group phase."
More from sernior editor John Brewin: "Greece is the word. They are the tournament's surprise package, always capable of a goal from nothing. They need a miracle but are good fun."
It is probably a good time to send you a link to Dale Johnson's permutations article to explain what will happen if scores change.
However, that is only while the Poland-Czech Republic game remains 0-0. If the Czechs or Poland were to win, they would go through alongside Greece.
As things stand, then, Russia are still going through as group winners while Greece will finish second.
45'
Half-time
45'
Karagounis fires the ball under Malafeev to give Greece a shock lead on the brink of half-time!
45'
45'
Shirokov throws his left boot at the ball as the deep cross falls to him, but he doesn't get any real control on it at all.
45'
Arshavin is closed down but wins another corner from Papastathopoulos.
45'
Russia win another corner.
45'
Two minutes' added time signalled.
45'
Russia go on the attack again, and the ball eventually falls for Shirokov, whose shot is blocked.
43'
Ignashevich slips and gives the ball to Karagounis, allowing Greece to win a free-kick inside their own half.
42'
Torosidis sends in a curling, looping cross that sees Malafeev scurrying back to his line to make the catch.
40'
John Brewin at the National Stadium on the most recent Kerzakhov blunder: "Kerzhakov does one of his time-honoured fresh air shots after Russia produce the most inventive football of the half."
40'
That's more like it. The short corner goes to Zhirkov, whose left-footed drive is very close indeed.
40'
Glushakov gets a shot off on the edge of the area, and it's taken a deflection. Corner kick.
39'
While Dzagoez was claiming to have been held back, incidentally, Kerzakhov was completely miskicking a shot.
38'
Kerzakhov looks to curls a ball into the centre but it's blocked. From the resulting throw-in, Arshavin tries a cross, but it's blocked. It eventually comes into the area, where Dzagoev seems to take a tumble but there's no significant appeal.
36'
Shirokov, having taken his tumble, takes a long-range shot that was disappointing to say the least.
36'
Shirokov goes down in the area, and there are appeals for a penalty, but they always looked a little optimistic.
34'
Papadopoulos sweeps up a rather loose through ball. The quality of the game is deteriorating, it seems.
32'
Torosidis sends a decent inswinging cross into the area, but Berezutski stands tall and heads clear.
31'
Glushakov attempts a long-range effort, which goes miles over the bar. We're still awaiting something a bit better from the Russians.
29'
Dzagoev finds Arshavin, who plays a precise ball towards Kerzakhov in front of goal, but Greece get it away for a corner.
28'
Karagounis lobs the ball towards Sapingidis in the area, but the latter is punished for a push in the back of the defender.
27'
Anyukov, out on the right wing, plays a pass to Shirkov, but the return ball - which would have seen him free in a dangerous position - is overhit. The game's just lacking that little bit of quality at the moment.
26'
Arshavin takes a corner for Russia but Greece get it clear.
25'
Senior editor John Brewin tweets: "The Russians are coming. Now dominating in Warsaw. The Greeks are indebted to some poor finishing, from who else but Kerzhakov?"
23'
Russia are gradually taking a firmer hold on the game, even if Greece are still threatening to cause problems through counter-attacks.
22'
Dzagoev finds Kerzhakhov, whose shot from the corner of the area is blocked for a throw-in.
20'
The ball eventually falls for Arshavin, but his shot is wide of the target.
20'
Samras looks for Karagounis, but the pass is a little off and possession is lost, allowing Russia to counter.
19'
Dzagoev tries an ambitious shot from range but doesn't catch it too well. He's not been at his best so far.
18'
Malafeeze rises to punch clear a cross.
18'
Greece get a couple of blocks in before breaking clear, with Samaras finding Gekas, whose cross is cleared for a throw-in.
18'
Arshavin's corner is headed clear by Samaras at the near post.
16'
16'
Greece have won yet another corner.
14'
Papastathopoulos sends a long ball forward that appeared to take an almighty bounce - or possibly got a touch - and nearly caught Malafeev out.
13'
13'
Russia have taken charge of this game.
12'
Anyukov pulls the ball back for Dzagoev, but the youngster blasts high and wide. Probably higher and wide than you're imagining.
10'
Good work from the Greek goalkeeper as Arshavin knocks the ball goalwards with the underside of his boot.
10'
Sifakis has to make the save from Arshavin!
9'
Samaras sidefoots a cross into the area, but Salpingidis is unable to make contact. Greece have made a strong start for the first time in the tournament.
9'
The match is finally back underway, and the ball is back with the Greek 'keeper.
8'
He took a nasty bang to the head and looks a little dazed.
7'
Actually, it's Anyukov who's hurt himself.
7'
Gekas tries to meet the corner at the near post, before Torosidis sees a shot blocked. Gekas looks to have hurt himself in a collision with Anyukov.
6'
Malafeev has to make a one-handed save to claw the ball out! Greece win another corner.
6'
Greece force a corner. They're not looking cowed here.
5'
Torosidis looks to make something happen down the right flank and earns another throw-in.
4'
Kyriakos Papadopoulos has to make a clearance down the other end of the field, before Greece head off on a counter.
3'
Not a bad chance, although it was certainly not an easy one.
3'
Samaras earns a throw-in for Greece, from which they fashion a cross that Sapingidis heads over the bar from close range.
2'
Sifakis has to come out to claim as Shirokov looks to get on the end of an Arshavin miskick. That could have been disastrous for the Greeks.
1'
Russia are knocking the ball around casually in their own half.
The match is underway!
Greece, incidentally, start with Sifakis in goal, with Chalkias out injured.
The match is about to get underway and the atmosphere in the stadium is pretty lively.
The Greek players stand for the national anthem.
While the rain pours in Wroclaw, it's dry in Warsaw. Presumably - if the other game were to be delayed - they'd have to delay this one too though.
There's suggestions a storm is approaching in the game between Poland and Czech Republic in Wroclaw. Hopefully we'll avoid more delayed action tonight.

Dick Advocaat insists Russia will not consider playing for a draw against Greece
Yokhin continues: "The players threatened not to go to the World Cup if he remained, and most of them were true to their word, including Shalimov, Dobrovolsky, Kanchelskis, Kulkov, Kolyvanov and Kiryakov. Almost all of them regret their behaviour very, very much. It is even thought to be the major cause of Sadyrin's death in 2001."
In 1994, though, things were very different. Russia blogger Michael Yokhin explains: "The biggest crisis for Russia started when they lost in Greece in the 1994 World Cup qualifiers. There was a huge rift, with federation president blasting the players, and it resulted in star players signing a letter that demanded the sacking of coach Pavel Sadyrin."
Russia have beaten Greece in the last two European Championships. They won 2-1 in the final group game of Euro 2004, when Greece won the tournament, and 1-0 at Euro 2008, when Greece failed to register a point.
There is some significant team news ahead of the game as 34-year-old Zenit midfielder Konstantin Zyryanov, a favourite of Russia coach Dick Advocaat, is to miss out through illness. Lokomotiv Moscow?s Denis Glushakov, a reported Zenit target, is set to replace him.
Greece blogger Chris Paraskevas, meanwhile, is not exactly overflowing with optimism but is praying for another miracle - read that one here.
Russia have said they will be going out for the win, and blogger Michael Yokhin has detailed here how he thinks they should do it.
Realistically, the importance of this match is in determining whether Russia progress in first or second place. A win would assure them of top spot, and avoid a likely meeting with Germany in the next round.
For the full lowdown, read Dale Johnson's article on group permutations.
Greece, despite their disappointing defeat to Czech Republic, will progress if they beat Russia, and could even top the group if they win by three goals.
Russia take on Greece, and both sides still have everything to play for.
Live commentary will appear here from 1945 BST.
