95'
As for Mexico, they will go into their game with Uruguay brimming with confidence. As it stands in the group, Uruguay are ahead by one goal. It should be a cracker on Tuesday night.
94'
Hot off the press, why not check out our report of the match.
94'
That was truly shocking from France. A tell tale sign that the French camp is in disarray. No-one cared about the game today, no-one wanted the ball, no-one wanted to win. As soon as they went behind the game was lost. Something is rotten in the state of Domenech. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked tonight.
93'
92'
And before you think Uruguay and Mexico might play out a draw so they both go through, whoever comes second in the group will most probably play Argentina. Incentive enough yes?
91'
France can still go through if they hammer South Africa, providing there is a winner in the game between Uruguay and Mexico. It will all come down to goal difference if that should happen.
90'
Three added minutes.....
89'
Mexico celebrate after Javier Hernandez opens the scoring.
89'
Domenech looks utterly unperturbed. He knows this is going to trigger an avalanche of criticism from the press, former pros and probably his players too.
88'
Diaby hauls back Hernandez after the youngster had pinched the ball.
87'
Mexico are nice and compact now. France resorting to long balls.
86'
Comment from Dale Johnson: ''France have not scored a World Cup goal outside Europe since Michel Platini's goal against Brazil in the 1986 quarter-finals.''
85'
This Mexico performance reminds me of Arsenal in their pomp. All full of life and vitality. Oh, and decent passing.
84'
Silky stuff from Mexico and an opening for Hernandez but his curler lacks pace.
83'
ESPN Stats & Info: That was the 9th penalty kick for a goal for Mexico all-time at the World Cup. The first for El Tri since 2002 against Croatia.
83'
82'
Its gone mental in the stands now as Mexico's fans spray beer over each other and pogo until their legs can't stand it anymore. Great scenes.
81'
This just goes to show that a rotten coach can truly destroy a team full of excellent players. Domenech's reign is in its dying embers.
80'
79'
78'
A cracking run from Barrera as he breezes past Evra, draws a foul from Abidal and wins a pen.
77'
PENALTY TO MEXICO
76'
Blanco wins a corner off Evra. Mexico's first of the match.
75'
Blanco's ball is poor when Mexico broke in numbers. France are there for the taking now.
74'
Malouda breaks through the middle and offloads to Gignac when he could have continued. Gignac's shot is wide and provokes another round of booing.
73'
Javier Hernandez slots home the opening goal
72'
Hernandez looks over the top for Dos Santos but the Tottenham striker is offside.
71'
Henry is warming up now. Will Domenech use him?
70'
Brilliant dink from Moreno into Dos Santos and he flashes the ball across goal. Hernandez was two yards off the pace or he'd have had a tap in.
69'
France have no option but to press forward but Mexico are lightning on the counter. There's more goals in this I'll wager.
68'
67'
The Mexico fans are having a right old party in the stands now.
66'
France are in big trouble now. If Mexico hang on, a draw between themselves and Uruguay in the final game will take them both through.
65'
Oh dear France. Abidal and Gallas dithered and Hernandez was just onside. Once he collected the ball he did superbly. Great composure from the 22-year-old.
64'
64'
Decent football from Mexico as Barrera turns in a lovely cross before Marquez hammers a long drive right into the body of Lloris.
63'
ESPN Stats & Info: France has never played consecutive scoreless ties at the World Cup.
62'
61'
Gallas has fluffed a free header from six yards out. The ref had blown for a foul though it seems.
60'
Toulalan finds some space and looks for Govou but Rodriguez is across to knock it behind.
59'
It has to be said our official, Khalil Al Ghamdi from Saudi Arabia, is having a bit of a stinker. Not confident at all.
58'
Dos Santos replicates Torrado's effort a minute ago by sailing a free-kick miles over the bar. Truly rotten.
57'
Torrado's free-kick is more like a conversion, as he boots it high over the bar. Pathetic.
56'
Diaby hauls Hernandez down and the young striker petulantly waves an imaginary card at the ref. He'll fit right in at Old Trafford with an attitude like that.
55'
Ribery tests Perez with an effort to the near post but Mexico clear the resulting corner. Better from France.
55'
54'
We're about to see Manchester United's new signing by the looks of it, but not before Malouda tests Perez with a right footed effort. Corner.
53'
A sloppy ball from Ribery. They've started poorly in the second half. They truly look like a team disunited.
52'
Stat attack: None of France's 12 crosses in the match against Mexico have found their intended target.
51'
A nice short free-kick from Mexico as Marquez finds Dos Santos but his cross is flat and France clear. Inventive set pieces on show. Like it.
50'
Stat attack: Anelka is making his 15th appearance at an international tournament, he has scored just once so far (Confed. Cup 2001). He won't get a chance to net another one today.
50'
Brilliant work from Salcido - he's been superb tonight. He cuts inside and draws a foul from Sagna. Mexico free-kick.
49'
48'
48'
Unbelievable. Ribery opts to shoot from 40 yards when he gets a free-kick in the first half. Now he's got one 25 yards from goal and attempts a cross. What's going on?
47'
Marquez gives away an early free-kick by clipping Evra. Ribery over it again.
46'
France were very disappointing during that first half, surely they can only get better?
France were very disappointing during that first half, surely they can only get better?
45'
Carlos Vela lies injured before his substitution
To find out why Gourcuff didn't start tonight, have a read of our France correspondent's blog.
45'
45'
45'
Ribery totally squanders a good chance to feed Anelka as Mexico are caught short but he dawdles, then is lucky to win a cheap free kick 35 yards out.
44'
Dos Santos hassles Ribery off the ball far too easily. Mexico look like they want this much more than their opponents.
43'
Now Gerardo Torrado misjudges the pace of Salcido's pass and starts running way ahead of it. Quite amusing actually.
42'
A good chance to break is wasted by Mexico as they hurried up the field. Osorio's ball for Barrera was poor and Lloris catches.
41'
Sagna's long throw falls to Govou's feet but Rodriguez gets himself in the way of it.
40'
Stat attack: Since Zidane's retirement, France are without a win in their four matches at international tournaments.
39'
Franco sticks a leg at the ball and Dos Santos brings it down before snapping a shot wide of goal. He was penalised too, for holding.
38'
Ribery's effort hits the wall before Malouda picks up the relaunch. He thinks he's won a corner but the assistant says goal kick. Correctly, as it turns out.
37'
Marquez slides in on Malouda and concedes a free kick. Minimal contact with the winger but enough to put him off his stride. Ribery over the free-kick.
36'
Poor link-up play between Diaby and Sagna, wasting a good chance to cross.
35'
Great build up play from Mexico again, before Gerardo Torrado blasts one over from 30 yards.
34'
Osorio launches a ball the length of the field to no-one in particular. That's out of keeping with the game so far.
33'
More danger emanates from Salcido down the left as he crosses and Barrera flings himself at it. Lloris did just enough but was far from convincing.
32'
31'
Mexico are down to ten while Vela receives treatment. I think his race could be run judging by the way he's limping.
30'
Thierry Henry and co warm the bench
29'
Govou tries two flicks within 30 seconds and gets both of them wrong. Vela is in trouble. He's lying on the turf clutching his hamstring.
28'
The French bench are all sporting rather fetching tartan blankets to keep them warm. Ahh, poor them.
27'
Superb work from Salcido, who got away from Sagna. Gallas stays put instead of coming to meet him and Lloris is forced to make a save when he really shouldn't have had to.
26'
Good covering from Sagna as Vela scurried onto a pass from Marquez.
25'
Great pressure on the ball from Mexico as Anelka received the ball from Sagna. There were four green shirts around him in an instant.
24'
Superb cross from Toulalan as he digs one out from the right side. Malouda jumps to meet it but Osorio does enough to put him off.
23'
Giovani dos Santos fires a shot against the post early on, but he was flagged offside.
22'
Great run down the left from Malouda as he beats two players. His cross is behind Ribery and he can't spin and fashion a shot.
21'
Mexico are good in possession. I like the look of Salcido down the left too. Very neat and tidy.
20'
Dos Santos hits the free-kick into the wall. Disappointing.
19'
Juarez does brilliantly as he slipped in possession of the ball but manages to retain control, to the extent that he touches it away from Evra and draws a foul.
18'
A lung-bursting run up the left from Salcido ends with a fierce left-footed shot flashing narrowly wide, and a great chorus of noise from the Mexico fans.
17'
A wholehearted challenge between Govou and Salcido. Good to see.
16'
Whisper it quietly, but there is barely a vuvuzela audible in Polokwane. I can actually hear some singing and everything. Brilliant.
15'
Malouda brings down Juarez and Mexico can build again.
14'
A good start to this game. Pacy.
13'
Its a training ground routine as Malouda finds Anelka, who slots in Ribery as he spins off the wall. The Bayern star then whacks a volley right across goal.
12'
Ribery is clipped by Moreno and France have a free kick 35 yards from goal, right of centre.
11'
Great turn on the edge of the box from Franco, but his shot is still rising as it clears the bar.
10'
Very honest from Malouda as Osorio tugged at him. He could easily have gone down but chose to square the ball for Ribery, who wasn't anticipating it.
9'
Down the other end Mexico win a free-kick for a bump on 'keeper Perez, but as it breaks down Malouda wins France a corner.
8'
A great chance for Vela as he springs the offside trap. He had two players square of him but elects to hammer one way over the bar instead. A complete waste.
7'
An extravagant Mexico fan shows his support for the team.
6'
Evra's backpass is a little short and Lloris has to charge out of his area to hack the ball away from Dos Santos.
5'
Anelka has a ridiculous pop from 40 yards from the resulting free-kick and is roundly booed by half of the stadium. Tough crowd.
5'
4'
A neat one-two between Malouda and Evra yields a corner for France.
3'
Dos Santos is flagged offside from Guillermo's pass. His resulting strike hits the post but that shows Mexico's intent.
2'
A very bitty opening is halted when Salcido barges into Ribery.
1'
A big roar greets the end of the Mexican anthem, and both teams have plenty of support inside the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Remember him? Take a look at the legacy of Thierry Henry
A solitary tear trickles down the face of France captain Patrice Evra as the anthem comes to an end.
Here come the teams to what looks like a reasonably full stadium. The French national anthem is booed as it begins. An inauspicious start.
To join Uruguay at the top of the group Mexico will have to do something they've never managed to do before. Beat France.
Uruguay took a firm grip on the group with their win over South Africa last night, and the winner of this game will join the South American side on four points. There's a big incentive for pushing forward and securing three points tonight, so let's hope we get goals, goals, goals.
Mexico make just one change, at right back, as Hector Moreno replaces Paul Aguilar. They retain the attacking trio of Giovani Dos Santos, Carlos Vela and Guillermo Franco.
Domenech makes one change to France's side with Florent Malouda replacing Yoann Gourcuff. Thierry Henry has to make do with a place on the bench. Not surprisingly, after his disappointing cameo against Uruguay.
As for Mexico, they were much brighter than France when they played hosts South Africa in the opener. They are a quick passing team, fast on the counter, and will pose France a decent threat tonight. Its a tough one to call.
Let's be honest, France were rotten against Uruguay. Apart from one chance for Sidney Govou they created little in a doleful game. Rumours of disquiet behind the scenes abound, as they always have during Domenech's reign.
A Mexico fan taunts France ahead of the kick-off.
Raymond Domenech has diverted the mounting pressure on France onto his players, telling them they are the only ones who can spark their World Cup campaign into life.
Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela and Guillermo Franco joke during a training session in Polokwane
