James Tyler: I think the US could use better ball retention more than width. Just figure out the alchemy of the midfield. Width can come later. Right now, Parkhurst and Fabian Johnson are unable to get forward and provide width because the midfield can't keep the ball long enough.

James Tyler: Let's be a little fair: it's a tough road game in Jamaica. 1-1 could be so much worse. I know we all have high expectations for a good U.S. squad, but it could be worse. Of course, as a Liverpool fan I've just about worn that phrase out. IT COULD BE WORSE.

James Tyler: Were it not for some poor crossing from wide positions, Jamaica might have tested Howard more.

Since then, mostly Jamaica in ascendancy. Austin's shift into attacking midfield has caused no end of agita for Beckerman, Edu and Jones. Austin scored the goal from a free-kick that Beckerman conceded and Beckerman also deflected in. So there. 1-1 with 8 to play in the first half.
