Deportivo La Coruna part ways with coach Victor Sanchez

Deportivo La Coruna on Monday parted ways with their manager, Victor Sanchez del Amo, after a season that saw them win only two of their last 22 La Liga games and lose 8-0 at home by Barcelona on April 20 as they finished 15th overall in the table.

"The club would like to thank the coach for his support, dedication, effort and professionalism during this stage as he led the team in the Primera Division," the club statement said.

The club president will hold a news conference on Monday at Riazor to speak about the club's future. Sanchez, 40, had  signed a contract extension in January to remain in charge until the end of next season.

The former Spain and Real Madrid midfielder was in charge of Deportivo for 13 months.
