Distin turned down Guadeloupe

Sylvain Distin has rejected the chance to launch his international career this summer at the age of 33 in order to prolong his time at Everton.

Distin was approached by representatives from the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe - his father's birthplace - asking him to play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States.
