Real Sociedad have parted company with coach Martin Lasarte, three days after avoiding relegation from the Primera Division.

Lasarte led Sociedad to the Segunda Division title in 2010 in his first season in charge and then helped keep the Basque club in the top flight.

Sociedad were one of six teams in danger of going down on the final day of the season but a 1-1 home draw with Getafe saw them finish in 15th spot, two points above the relegation zone.
