When Argentina's Under-20s flew to Peru in January for the Sudamericano Sub-20, their attempt to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic football tournament was thwarted by the combination of an apparent lack of motivation (but for a couple of players) and managerial incompetence. That the side did enough to qualify for the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia didn't do much to mask the poor performance.
