Latics swoop for Sammon

Wigan have swooped late on transfer deadline day to sign Conor Sammon from Kilmarnock.

The 24-year-old Irish striker put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal just moment before the transfer window closed.

Sammon scored 24 goals in 64 apperances for Kilmarnock, and has 15 goals in 20 starts this season. Latics boss Roberto Martinez told the club's website: "Conor is a young, hungry player we have been looking at for a while.
