Sven-Goran Eriksson has turned down the chance to manage his home country after it was confirmed he has withdrawn from the running to become Sweden's next head coach.

The Swedish Football Association confirmed on Monday that Eriksson was a leading contender to replace Lars Lagerback following the latter's departure after nine years in the job.
