U.S. forward Davies out of intensive care

WASHINGTON -- U.S. national team forward Charlie Davies has been moved out of intensive care as he recovers from serious injuries after a car accident.

The U.S. Soccer Federation says Davies is now able to receive visitors. He will have surgery early next week to repair a broken left elbow and may require operations to repair facial fractures.

Davies is listed in fair condition at Washington Hospital Center Medstar.
