Islanders stun Marathon to advance to CCL semifinals

The Puerto Rico Islanders stunned Honduran champion Marathon with a 1-0 win in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Puerto Rico advanced to the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals with an overall 3-1 aggregate score.

In a match that was much slower in pace than the first-leg meeting in Bayamon, Puerto Rico played a more defensive-oriented game with its star Jonathan Steele sidelined for the match. Marathon pressured the Islanders throughout the game but failed to find the net.
