Le Mans swoop to sign goalkeeper Makaridze

Le Mans have signed Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Makaridze from Dinamo Tbilisi for 800,000 euros.

The 18-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 club.

He said: "I'm impatient to make my debut. Le Mans have very exacting fans, but my own ambitions are also high."

Makaridze made his debut for Georgia in 2007 and has five caps to his name.

Le Mans coach Yves Bertucci added: "Makaridze visited at us in December made a very good impression.
