Victory knock Adelaide off top spot

Melbourne Victory replaced Adelaide United at the top of the A-League ladder on the back of a Nick Ward header at Telstra Dome.

The Victory won Tuesday night's match 1-0 in front of one of the biggest crowds of the season, 27,196.

Ward scored the goal in the 58th minute to give Melbourne their third win over Adelaide in as many clashes this season.
