U.S. U-17 women advance to World Cup semis

The U.S. U-17 women's national team advanced to the semifinals of the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup with a 4-2 victory against the Korea Republic in front of more than 7,000 fans at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton, New Zealand.

The U.S. received goals from forward Courtney Verloo (who tallied twice), forward Vicki DiMartino and midfielder Kristie Mewis.
