New professional women's league hoping for success

Despite the U.S. women's national team's recent resounding win over Mexico, an unbeaten streak and regaining of the No. 1 ranking, there's a distinct possibility that the current high may mask a deeper problem of competitive development.



After all, some key players for the U.S. who were on the field versus Mexico did not earn their place on the squad through the current pipelines of youth national teams and college play.
