Chesterfield in 'advanced talks' over takeover

Chesterfield's plans for a new stadium have been boosted by the news that the Coca-Cola League One club are in 'advanced talks' with potential investors.

Chairman Barrie Hubbard officially confirmed that the Spireites could become the latest Football League club to be the subject of a takeover bid this morning.

The news should help appease fans following the surprise sacking of manager Roy McFarland 24 hours earlier.
