Trend towards artificial turf is disturbing

The installation of artificial turf at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., and the opening of FC Toronto's BMO Field doubles the number of synthetic surfaces in MLS for next season. Four of MLS's 12 stadiums will have artificial turf, a disturbing development should it continue.







Fortunately, there is a good chance this is not a trend, since only FC Toronto has announced a total commitment to playing on the fake stuff.
