No second chance for Berhalter in Germany

It is easy to forget just how close Gregg Berhalter came to being a World Cup hero.

The American defender sent a shot toward Germany's goal that threatened to keep the U.S. national team's dream run at the 2002 World Cup going. That was before Torsten Frings "accidentally" got his arm in the way of the shot. Germany won the game and the Americans went home. Berhalter was left wondering what could have been and praying he would have another chance at World Cup glory.
