Seattle, Wash. -- Former UC Santa Barbara All-American Dan Kennedy was named the United Soccer Leagues' First Division Rookie of the Year as voted on by the league's coaches and general managers.

Kennedy played every minute in goal for the Puerto Rico Islanders, earning a 10-10-8 record and five shutouts this season. He finished second in the league with 114 saves, just 10 behind Seattle's Preston Burpo. Kennedy was instrumental in leading the second-year Islanders to within one point ...
