D.C. group is buying operating rights

WASHINGTON --D.C. United and Anschutz Entertainment Group will announce the widely anticipated sale of the team's operating rights in a news conference Thursday.

A local group led by Washington-area real estate developers Willi Lauterbach and Timothy Kissler and United president and CEO Kevin Payne is purchasing the rights from Colorado billionaire Philip F. Anschutz.
