BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The U.S. soccer team had a new altitude and a new attitude Monday.

A day after a 2-1 defeat in the smog at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca, 7,200 feet above sea level, the Americans practiced at the University of Alabama-Birmingham for Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala at Legion Field.
