LA PAZ, March 26 (Reuters) - Argentina coach Jose Pekerman said soccer beat altitude when his team overcame Bolivia 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier at 3,600 metres above sea level on Saturday.

'Football prevailed over altitude,' Pekerman told reporters after his youthful, second-string side kept Argentina top of the 10-nation South American qualifying group.
