Friedel considers leaving U.S. squad

At 33, Brad Friedel has voiced his potential retirement from international play and resting on his more than 80 caps for the U.S. National Team.

In an interview with the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, Friedel mentioned his health, family and responsibility to Blackburn Rovers as reasons for a potential exit from the U.S. squad. A veteran of three World Cups, Friedel was a huge part of his country's run to the quarterfinals of Japan/Korea 2002 after being a backup in 1994 and 1998.
